Brand Watch These Athletes Experience Digital Weight at Tonal’s New Fifth Avenue Showroom

The future of fitness has arrived in New York City.

Digital weight is something you might need to feel to believe. Unlike traditional weights, it uses advanced electric motor technology to create resistance, which is a whole new experience for most of us.

Fortunately, Tonal recently opened a new showroom on Fifth Avenue in New York City to offer more people the opportunity to experience digital weight firsthand. To celebrate, the brains behind the smartest home gym hosted an athlete-studded event, which included big names such as pro-basketball guard Quentin Grimes, House of Athlete founder Brandon Marshall, and sports analyst and former professional offensive lineman Damien Woody.

Woody, who regularly trains with Tonal, explained that when he first started working out with digital weight, he was shocked. “You can’t cheat the machine, and this is coming from a guy who played 12 years in the national football league,” he said. “Tonal kept me honest throughout my whole workout.”

Using Tonal for the first time, Grimes was “super impressed” by the experience. “It definitely surprised me how much weight this little machine could produce,” he said. “[Basketball] players can use it, [football] players can use it—knowing how much stronger and better they can get as an overall athlete.” He said intends to leverage the intelligence of the trainer to build strength heading into his rookie season.

The athletes learned ways to leverage Tonal in their training while touring the new space, which embodies Tonal’s cutting-edge approach to fitness technology. The new Fifth Avenue showroom features holographic displays of Tonal’s coaches and projection mapping, which is a digital installation that helps you envision Tonal in your home. The showroom also has a smoothie bar and a private VIP training space complete with a shower and changing area.

Marshall, a long-time supporter and investor in Tonal said the Fifth Avenue showroom “is amazing.”

“I believed in Tonal from the very beginning, before it became all this. As a professional athlete, it only makes sense to me—resistance training is the way,” he added.
