Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

1. Commitment to accessibility

Tonal is committed to providing a respectful, accessible, and inclusive environment for all our employees, contractors, volunteers, customers and members of our community in the Province of Ontario. Our goal is to meet the standards outlined in the province’s Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and to provide an inclusive environment for all.

This multi-year accessibility plan was created as part of our commitment to meeting our obligations under the AODA, below we have outlined the steps we will be taking to provide a safe, accessible and inclusive workplace in a timely manner. 

2. Accessibility plan

2.1 Accessibility policies

  • Tonal has developed an Accessibility Policy and Customer Service Policy that clearly identifies how Tonal will achieve full accessibility and the expectations of employees, suppliers, volunteers and customers.

2.2 Information and communications standards

  • Tonal will create accessible methods for receiving and responding to feedback from individuals on how they access goods and services. These channels for feedback and the feedback itself will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

2.3 Customer service standard

  • Tonal is committed to providing accessible customer service to people with disabilities by providing them goods and services with the same high quality and timeliness as others.

  • Tonal’s Accessibility Policy outlines how people with disabilities will be appropriately and successfully served. Specifically, the policy includes the use of guide dogs and service animals, assistive devices, support persons, and alternative methods of how customer feedback can be submitted.

  • Tonal has developed a customer feedback form to ensure all customers are able to provide feedback in an accessible manner.

2.4 Employment standard

  • Tonal is committed to fair, equitable and accessible employment practices.

  • Tonal includes a statement on its career site and on all job postings indicating its accessible and inclusive recruitment and employment policy.

  • Tonal will inform job applicants participating in assessments or selection processes that accommodations are available upon request. Those making requests will be consulted with and accommodates made where required.

  • Upon the request made by a job candidate or employee, Tonal will ensure that any information is provided in an accessible format and in a timely manner. These requests can be made about anything that a job candidate or employee may need in order to be successful in the recruitment process or in their jobs.

2.5 Training

  • Tonal is committed to providing training to our employees and volunteers in all aspects of Ontario’s accessibility laws and the Ontario Human Rights Code as it applies to people with disabilities. Training will also be provided to our employees about our Accessibility Policy, Accessible Employment Policy, and all other policies, procedures and practices that will ensure Tonal employees work in the most accessible and inclusive work environment possible.

2.6 Compliance reporting

Tonal will complete regular updates on progress in becoming  with the legislation and its regulations by filing the Accessibility Compliance Report.
